Today we took about 20 minutes to finish the Unit 2 Nuclear Chemistry Test. After the Test we started working on the Electron Energy and Light POGIL worksheet. We finished through pg 6. We used cards to create a Bohr model worksheet predicting which wavelength would be given off by each transition.
Homework and Classwork: POGIL pg 1-6, Bohr transitions, and Bohr Model Practice Worksheet.

Today we went over answers to HW Packet Worksheets #7-8. We finished the notes from the Flipchart, and I gave out the Properties of Particles matching questions for practice.
HOMEWORK: Study for tomorrow's test! There will be three sections:1.Properties of Particles and General Concepts 2.Half lives 3. Nuclear Equations and Stability. Today we went over HW Packet Worksheet #6 one by one, answering any questions. We worked examples of problems where the equation and log calculations are required. These will also be on the test.
We played Quizlet Live about the properties of the particles we've been studying. These will be on the test. Classwork and Homework: HW Packet Worksheet #7 and #8Today we went over Worksheet #5 and I took a grade on who attempted to write the 10 isotopes. Students who didn't try can try tonight for 1/2 credit.
We took notes on : - Half life definition and description
- Calculating half lives (w/out log calculations)
Classwork and Homework:HW Packet Worksheet #6 Today we went over yesterday's homework and answered any questions. We took notes on: - Strong Nuclear Force
- Predicting Nuclear Stability
- Neutron to proton ratio
- Decay type prediction
Classwork and Homework: Nuclear Worksheet #5 Write 10 isotopes--6 radioactive and 6 stable--tell your reasoning and predict the decay type. Today I gave back the Unit 2 Test and discussed retest procedures.
We talked about the Candium Lab, then got in our lab groups and worked on the lab. This is due TOMORROW in a LAB BOOK! We took notes on: - Radiation properties
- Alpha, beta, gamma decay
- Positon emission and electron capture
Classwork and Homework: Nuclear Chemistry HW Packet Pg #1Today we traded papers and went over our homework. I answered any questions. If you missed a lot, do some of the problems on the back for extra practice.
We took notes on subatomic particle properties and calculating average atomic mass. BRING CANDY FOR LAB TOMORROWClasswork and Homework:Isotopes and Avg Atomic Masses Worksheet Unit 2 Practice Test |
