Today we started class by taking the practice Periodic Table ID Test. This should help you focus on what to study.
We went over the notes we took last night, explaining the periodic trends and solving example problems together involving these trends. We finished the practice test and checked our answers. Homework: Finish front and back of practice test and STUDY!

Today we completed a POGIL worksheet on periodic trends. We took notes on prediction of properties and basic information of the table.
Homework: Take notes on the remainder of the periodic table flipchart. We will talk about these notes tomorrow Today we took notes on the history of the development of the periodic table. One section of our test will be on this material.
We also created a study guide by coloring and labeling a periodic table. This material will comprise a second section of our next test. Homework: Work on retest work for any retest you want to do. The six weeks and any retest opportunities end next week! Today we went over the answers to the Electron Configuration Practice Worksheet for those who weren't here yesterday. We took notes on writing We learned how to find the number of valance electrons an element has and how to draw electron dot diagrams. We did the Unit 3 practice test in class, and checked the answers.
Homework: Study for tomorrow's test! Most students checked out after the ACT, and seniors were at ICC, so we went over last night's homework and the we played Electron Configuration Battleship.
Today we went over yesterday's homework and I answered any questions. Since students were still unsure, we spent the rest of Class completing Light Equations worksheet #3 in groups and with teacher input to master this skill.
