Today we went over the Electron Configuration Practice Worksheet and I answered any questions and did extra examples. We took notes on writing electron configurations for ions, determining valance electrons, and writing electron dot diagrams.
Homework: Complete the Practice test and Practice test part B, and work on the extra practice electron configuration worksheets. The Test Will be MONDAY!!!

Today we took notes on the characteristics of atomic orbitals and we learned how to write complete e-configurations, noble gas configurations, and orbital diagrams using the periodic table. We practiced numerous examples in class.
Homework: Electron Configuration Practice Worksheet Today we took notes on development of Quantum Mechanical model of the atom and the scientist who were instrumental.
We worked on the Electron Configuration POGIL in groups, and went over most of it in class. Tomorrow we will finish going over it. Homework: Fish ALL of the Electron Configuration POGIL, including the extension questions. Today we went over the Light Equations Homework and took some class work to correct (or do!) our work.
We took notes on:
I let students see the two parts of the test I have graded tso they can work on any necessary retest work this weekend. We went over the answers to yesterday's POGIL activity, and took notes on light aand the equations that we use to describe them. We did some example problems in class.
Homework: Complete the Frequency/Wavelength/Energy Worksheet Take notes on pages 16-19 of the Unit 3 Flipchart Begin any necessary retest work. Today we talked briefly about yesterday's test and what is required to retest any portion. We discussed the development of atomic theory and the scientists involved. We looked at the atomic emission spectra of several elements and discussed what we saw. We worked in groups to complete the Electron Energy and Light POGIL focused on emission spectra and the Bohr Model.
Homework: Complete the Electron Energy and Light POGIL Today we finished up the final concepts in our study of nuclear chemistry. We went over Review Worksheet 1 and the level 2 half life problems.
Homework: Study for tomorrow's test! Today we went over again the procedure to solve the Level 2 Half Life problems. We worked on them in class in groups.
Homework: Nuclear Chemistry Review #1 and#2 Today I took up the 10 isotopes you were supposed to write as a grade. We went over the homework step by step and I answered any questions. We did examples of Level 2 half life problems that you must use the equation and log to solve.
