We took notes on how to write formulas using Type II metals and how to name compounds of type II metals, both binary and those that include polyatomic ions. Homework: Type II Binary Compounds Worksheet; Type II with polyatomics worksheet. Today we reviewed yesterday's work, and went over the answers to the homework. I answered any questions and did extra examples.

Today we took time in class to finish all work on the periodic table. We played games to memorize the history and to practice periodic trends.
We went over all of the work and answered ll questions. Homework: Study for tomorrow's test! Today we took the periodic Table ID Test and graded it in class. We finished notes on Ionization Energy and electronegativity trends, and did practice problems like those that will appear on the test.
Classwork and Homework: Complete the practice test front and back, as well as the additional trends worksheet handed out in class. We will go over this work on Monday to prepare for the test on Tuesday. Today we colored and labeled our blank periodic table for the ID Test. We will take this tomorrow to go on the 1st six weeks grade. We also took notes on periodic trends in general and why they vary , with specifics on Atomic Radius trends and Ionic Radius Trends. We will finish up the notes tomorrow after the Periodic Table ID Test.
Today we worked in groups on the Periodic People Activity.
We took notes on the history of the periodic table, and started notes on classes of elements. RETESTING FOR THE 1ST SIX WEEKS MUST BE COMPLETE BY THURSDAY!!!!!! |
