Today we went over the answers to the Acid Naming Worksheets, and reviewed this topic . I gave back the flipchart quizzes and we went over these step by step to try and master ionic vs. covalent naming.
We took note on:

Today we took notes on:
Classwork and homework: Complete the last page front and back in your homework packet about acids Today we took the final polyatomic ion quiz.
We went over the weekend's homework and played the unfair Game as a review. Homework: Continue to practice naming compounds by finishing your homework and using the online courses posted in canvas.
Today we took polyatomic ion quiz #3. We took today to really master all the types of ionic naming. We worked on problems, and did a maze in the hall for practice.
Homework: Make sure all problems that have been assigned are complete. Use naming resources in canvas to practice ionic naming. Today we took polyatomic ion quiz #2. We went over type II binary compounds and I answered any questions. We learned about Type II metals with polyatomics, and worked on the homework in the remaining time.
Homework: Type II with polyatomics and Ionic Naming #5 and #6. Today we took the first polyatomic ion quiz. We went over the weekend's homework and I answered any questions. We defined Type II metals as metals whose charge can change. We learned to name formulas and write formulas for names for combinations of these metals with a single non-metal (Binary Compounds).
Homework: Type II Binary compounds Worksheet Today we took notes on using Type I metals and:
The retest work for the Unit 3 Test is now open. Please begin any necessary retest work to bring up whatever low grades you have. Today we went over the Homework from yesterday, and worked to complete the practice test. We watched videos of alkali metal and halogen reactions.
We played the unfair game to review. Study for tomorrow's test! |
