Today we took the first of our polyatomic ion quizzes. We played a quizizz game to review ionic naming. We also did a maze in the hall to practice names and formulas.
We went over Ionic Nomenclature Worksheet 5-6 by working the 1st 10 problems of each together on the board. Finish these tonight if you didn't--It is vitally important to have ionic naming down pat before we continue tomorrow.

Today we went over yesterday's homework. We played quizlet live to practice naming compounds. We took brief notes on ion naming and compounds containing Type II metals and polyatomic ions.
Classwork and Homework: Type II metals with polyatomic ions worksheet Ionic Nomenclature worksheets 5-6. Today we talked about the yesterdays notes and I gave examples again for those who weren't here. We again wrote down the list of 10 Polyatomic Ions we will begin testing on this Thursday.
We worked to finish homework or to complete Type I ionic Compounds worksheets #1 and #2 We took notes on:
Classwork and Homework: Finish Type I ionic Compounds worksheets #1 and #2 and Type II Binary Ionic Compounds worksheet. Today we talked about the notes on Friday and I gave examples again for those who weren't here. We wrote down the list of 10 Polyatomic Ions we will begin testing on this Thursday.
We took notes on :
Classwork and Homework: Type I formulas with Polyatomic ions worksheet.
Today we took notes on:
Classes of elements and their characteristics Predicting properties based on class Periodic Trends and their causes. Homework: Periodic Table HW Packet pg.1-3 Today we started our unit on the periodic table. We took notes on the history, then completed a "Periodic People Activity" to better understand the process. We colored in our Periodic Table Study Sheet.
Today we went over the practice test step by step to be sure we understand how to complete these types of problems. I answered any questions students had. Tomorrow will the Unit 3 Test.
Homework: STUDY FOR TEST! Today we took notes on the history of atomic theory.
We looked at atomic emission spectra using gas tubes. We worked in groups to complete the Electrons in atoms POGIL. Homework: Finish the Pogil |
