Today we took polyatomic ion quiz #3. We took today to really master all the types of ionic naming. We worked on problems, and did a maze in the hall for practice.
Homework: Make sure all problems that have been assigned are complete. Use naming resources in canvas to practice ionic naming. Today we took polyatomic ion quiz #2. We went over type II binary compounds and I answered any questions. We learned about Type II metals with polyatomics, and did a chart including all types of naming learned so far as a formative assessment. We did Naming Triangle 1 to practice, and submitted screen shots of what we completed.
Homework: Type II with polyatomics and Ionic Naming #5 and #6. Today we took the first polyatomic ion quiz. We went over the weekend's homework and I answered any questions. We defined Type II metals as metals whose charge can change. We learned to name formulas and write formulas for names for combinations of these metals with a single non-metal (Binary Compounds).
Homework: Type II Binary compounds Worksheet Today we went over the homework from yesterday and I answered any questions. We took notes on using Type I metals and:
The retest work for the Unit 3 Test is now open. Please begin any necessary retest work to bring up whatever low grades you have. Today we went over the Homework from yesterday, and worked to complete the practice test. We watched videos of alkali metal and halogen reactions.
We played the unfair game to review. Study for tomorrow's test! Today we took notes on:
Homework: Periodic Table ID from practice test and Periodic Table worksheet. Today we started our unit on the periodic table. We took notes on the history, then completed a "Periodic People Activity" to better understand the process. We colored in our Periodic Table Study Sheet.
